Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the team responsible for building and evolving the internal tools that power customer experience operations.

These systems sit at the intersection of product, operations, and data, integrating with backend services, billing systems, data infrastructure, and internal APIs to create a unified operational platform for customer support teams.

This is highly leveraged engineering work. The systems you design will be used daily by operations teams and will directly influence the company’s ability to scale customer support efficiently while maintaining a high-quality patient experience.

Engineers in this environment are expected to operate with a high degree of ownership, defining system architecture, establishing technical standards, and collaborating closely with product and operational leadership.

What You’ll Work On

Design, build, and maintain internal tools that power customer experience and operational workflows across the company.

Lead the end-to-end architecture and development of internal systems supporting customer support and operational teams.

Build robust backend services and APIs that integrate with data systems, billing platforms, and operational workflows.

Design scalable database schemas and event-driven architectures capable of supporting multiple business domains.

Implement secure role-based access control and permissioning across internal systems.

Build flexible frontend components that support complex operational workflows without creating tightly coupled systems.

Collaborate directly with product, operations, and engineering leadership to translate real-world operational workflows into scalable software systems.

Mentor engineers and help establish best practices for system architecture, code quality, and engineering processes.

Technical Environment

The engineering organization uses a modern full-stack environment that includes technologies such as:

TypeScript / React (Next.js) for frontend development

Backend services in languages such as Node.js, Python, Go, or Java

PostgreSQL and large-scale data systems for operational and analytical workloads

Cloud infrastructure and event-driven architectures supporting distributed services

The team also embraces AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate iteration, automate boilerplate, and enable engineers to focus on higher-level system design and architecture.

What We’re Looking For

6+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally operating at a Senior or Lead level.

Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React (Next.js), and modern backend development.

Deep understanding of scalable system design, including database architecture, API design, and distributed systems patterns.

Experience implementing role-based access control, complex data models, and high-volume operational workflows.

Strong product mindset with a focus on building tools that improve operational efficiency and user experience.

Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy in a fast-moving, remote-first environment.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with product, operations, and engineering stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in health-tech, fintech, or other regulated industries.

Experience designing systems that handle sensitive or compliance-driven data.

Familiarity with internal tools platforms or operational workflow systems.

Experience optimizing databases and queries for large-scale datasets.
