    About the role

    We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Team Lead to design and deliver scalable backend services and data platforms within a distributed, event-driven architecture. This role combines technical leadership and system ownership, with strong involvement in Java/Spring Boot microservices, data processing, and Cloud/DevOps practices (AWS/Azure).

    The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot, combined with experience operating large-scale distributed systems and modern data platforms.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the design and delivery of scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.

    • Design and maintain REST APIs, distributed systems, and microservices architectures.

    • Drive development of data processing workflows using Spark and Databricks.

    • Ensure platform reliability, scalability, observability, and production readiness.

    • Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.

    • Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and cloud infrastructure practices.

    • Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across backend and data initiatives.

    • Participate in architectural decisions, troubleshooting, and production support.

    • Contribute to the evolution and modernization of distributed systems and cloud platforms.

    Requirements

    Technical Experience

    • Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.

    • Solid experience designing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

    • Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data modeling.

    • Experience with Spark and Databricks.

    • Experience handling large-scale batch and streaming data workflows.

    • Experience working with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.

    • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Airflow, or similar tools.

    • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog.

    • Familiarity with containers and orchestration concepts.

    Leadership

    • Experience leading engineering teams or driving technical initiatives.

    • Strong ownership mindset and production systems management experience.

    • Ability to mentor engineers while remaining highly hands-on technically.

    • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
