About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-growth, VC-backed startup building AI-driven conversational platforms that are transforming how businesses interact with their customers.

In this role, you will design and deliver enterprise-grade systems that power conversational experiences at scale, working across backend and frontend domains. You’ll collaborate closely with product, AI, and business teams to build solutions that directly impact customer engagement and revenue.

This is a role for someone who combines strong engineering fundamentals with product thinking, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is excited about working at the intersection of AI, data, and scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy production-grade conversational AI solutions from prototype to scalable systems

• Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to define user journeys and system requirements

• Develop backend services using Python, AWS, Kafka, Postgres, and DynamoDB

• Contribute to AI-driven features, including LLM-based agents, retrieval systems, and automation pipelines

• Define and track performance metrics to continuously improve system outcomes and user engagement

• Work across backend and (optionally) frontend layers to deliver end-to-end solutions

• Participate in architectural decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices

• Mentor team members and contribute to a high-performance engineering culture

• Balance speed, quality, and scalability in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering roles

• Proven experience building and scaling distributed systems in production

• Experience working in fast-paced, product-driven environments (startup or high-growth companies preferred)

Technical Skills

• Strong backend development experience with Python

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services

• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar)

• Strong knowledge of databases (Postgres, DynamoDB or similar)

• Experience designing and building scalable APIs and services

• Exposure to frontend technologies (React, TypeScript) is a plus

AI & Product Mindset

• Interest or experience in AI-driven systems, LLMs, or conversational platforms

• Ability to translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with ambiguity
