[1854] - Engineering Team Lead (.NET & Data Platforms)

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Team Lead to design and deliver scalable backend services and data platforms within a distributed, event-driven architecture. This role combines technical leadership and system ownership, with strong involvement in .Net microservices, data processing, and Cloud/DevOps practices (AWS/Azure).

The ideal candidate is someone comfortable operating across multiple technical domains, with strong ownership mindset, architectural thinking, and the ability to lead highly scalable engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of scalable backend services and distributed systems using .NET technologies.

• Own architecture decisions across backend services, data models, SQL systems, and data pipelines.

• Drive development of large-scale data workflows using Spark and Databricks (batch and streaming).

• Ensure system reliability, scalability, observability, and performance optimization across production environments.

• Mentor engineers and promote best practices in backend engineering, distributed systems, and data platforms.

• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to align engineering solutions with business objectives.

• Improve CI/CD processes, automation, and cloud infrastructure practices.

• Participate actively in debugging, troubleshooting, and production incident resolution.

• Contribute to long-term platform scalability and modernization initiatives.

Requirements

Technical Experience

• Strong experience with .NET and backend development.

• Experience building scalable distributed systems and microservices architectures.

• Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data modeling.

• Hands-on experience with Spark and Databricks.

• Experience handling large-scale data processing pipelines (batch and streaming).

• Experience working with Azure cloud environments.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.

• Experience with monitoring, observability, and production system reliability.

• Strong understanding of cloud-native and distributed architecture principles.

Leadership

• Experience leading engineering teams or driving technical initiatives.

• Strong ownership mindset and ability to manage production systems end-to-end.

• Ability to mentor engineers while remaining highly hands-on technically.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar).

• Experience with large-scale data platforms and S3-based workflows.

• Knowledge of GraphQL APIs.

• Experience modernizing legacy systems.
