[1845] - Mid level Back end Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join a high-impact international project, working with a European-based product company focused on building scalable, high-performance web applications.

In this role, you will be part of a collaborative engineering team contributing to the design, development, and optimization of backend systems, working with modern architectures and cloud-based environments.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong PHP expertise who wants to work on production-grade systems, applying best practices in architecture, testing, and deployment while collaborating with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using PHP (Symfony) and Node.js

• Contribute to system design following DDD and Hexagonal Architecture principles

• Build scalable and high-performance web applications

• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code

• Develop and optimize database queries (SQL and NoSQL)

• Implement and maintain unit and integration tests

• Work with cloud services (AWS) and containerized environments (Docker)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality delivery

• Participate in CI/CD processes and ensure smooth deployment cycles

• Identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement

Requirements

Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in backend development

• Experience working in production environments with scalable applications

• Experience collaborating with distributed teams

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with PHP 8+ and Symfony (6.x preferred)

• Hands-on experience with Node.js

• Experience with MariaDB, Redis, and NoSQL databases (MongoDB or similar)

• Experience using ORMs such as Doctrine or Eloquent

• Knowledge of DDD and Hexagonal Architecture

• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, SNS, SQS)

• Experience working with Docker

• Familiarity with OpenSearch

Quality & Testing

• Experience with PHPUnit and testing practices

• Ability to write unit and integration tests

• Experience with automation tools (Playwright for UI/API testing is a plus)

Deployment & Tools

• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines

• Understanding of modern deployment practices

Languages

• Spanish: Fluent (required)

• English: Intermediate (working proficiency)
